A Little History...

About Me...

My journey in photography began in a high school darkroom back in the early 1970’s. Watching a blank piece of photo paper suddenly transform into an image as it was chemically processed seemed like magic. That was the beginning of a decades long journey capturing special moments in time. These have included sporting events, weddings, portraits, wildlife, and my personal favorite, landscapes.

I hope as you browse through my online galleries you will enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed capturing them

Inspiration

My early inspiration was drawn from the classic black and white images of the legendary Ansel Adams. More recently, my creative vision has been enhanced by Tony Sweet, an individual with a unique view through the camera who introduced me to the world of infrared and using the camera to create art!

Techniques

I have always been a traditionalist who believes that "getting it right" in the camera is the best way to go. However, Jim Zuckerman has opened my eyes to learning how to overcome camera limitations in order to produce more realistic images, and John Gerlach who constantly pushes the envelope of creating a better image!

career highlights

While I have had many highlights along my photographic journey, I am constantly searching for that next great image and believe my best photograph is just over the next horizon! Recent trips to Alaska and Africa have really expanded my appreciation for the natural world that surrounds us.
